Stanton Park III

Natural transitional spaces in the landscape often provide the starting point for my paintings. Abstract marks, colour interactions, layers, drips and the drawn line jostle and combine in a search for something personally tangible, seeming to stand both as a surrogate for nature and as a metaphor for internal spiritual realities. Adjustments and changes are driven by a need to visually navigate through the rhythms of a painting with varying perceptions of security, vulnerability, reparation and resolution.
